PAGASA Says Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies will bring hot and humid weather over parts of the country.

On Monday (June 3, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies and frontal system will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that easterlies continue to affect the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Patuloy na pag-iral ng easterlies at ito ang magdadala ng medyo mainit na tanghali habang mas malaki yung tsansa ng pag-ulan sa hapon hanggang sa gabi dulot ng localized thunderstorms,” said Badrina.

The easterlies will bring hot weather conditions with a high chance of rain in the afternoon and evening due to localized thunderstorms. It will bring clouds and isolated rain showers over extreme Northern Luzon, particularly in the Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

“May mga kaulapan sa extreme Northern Luzon, ito ay bahagi ng frontal system na maaring magdala ng pag-ulan partikular sa bahagi ng Batanes at Babuyan Islands,” he added.

The southwest monsoon or “habagat” is expected to bring rain to the northern and western parts of Luzon, particularly the Ilocos region.

The weather system will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

No low-pressure area is being monitored inside and around the Philippine area of responsibility.

The weather agency has warned the public about possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Extreme Northern Luzon will be slight to moderate. PAGASA did not raise a gale warning in any parts of the country’s seaboard.
