Newly-Hired Maid Reportedly Strangled Her Employer in Cavite
A newly-hired maid who had just started working allegedly strangled her employer inside their home in General Trias, Cavite.
According to CCTV footage, the suspect known as alias “Nessa” covered the camera to prevent it from recording. The victim, Ruby Castro, noticed the cover and removed it. However, “Nessa” covered it again, after which screams and dog barks were heard.
Later, Castro was found lifeless, and autopsy results revealed that she was allegedly strangled to death. Authorities suspect that robbery may have been the motive behind the killing.
“Tatlo po sila na nagplano. Tinarget po talaga. They had planned it. It is premeditated,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Jose Naparato Jr., the General Trias Police chief.
“Ang gamit po sa pagsakal ay isang panyo. At nagtulong po ‘yung si alias Nessa at ‘yung kaniyang manliligaw na si alias Dondon sa pagsakal sa ating biktima,” he added.
In her initial statement to the police, “Nessa” exposed a close friend of the victim as the mastermind. However, another maid accused by Nessa approached the police and denied being the mastermind.
During the confrontation between the suspects and the victim’s relatives at the prosecutor’s office, the suspect retracted her statement. According to the victim’s child, the victim’s close friend was involved in the crime.
“Araw-araw niya pong kasama at alam niya ang lahat ng kilos ng nanay ko tsaka mga lakad po. Dahil sa pera po,” said Jaek Palalay, the victim’s child.
“Sana mapatawad nila po ako. Na-brainwash lang po ako. Kasi po sabi po kasi nila, hati-hati kami para mabigyan ko ng pera ang mga anak ko, magbagong buhay,” said “Nessa.
The three suspects have been inquested and face charges of robbery with homicide.
