Here’s what Dingdong Dantes shared about his new film.
Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes and former ABS-CBN president Charo Santos are going to work together for a new film.
“Rewind” was one of the official entries of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 (MMFF) which gained huge total sales. This film is about the story of family and the value of the present time. It talked about the reality of life and the things that cannot be undone.
The film starred real-life married couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes. This is the first Filipino title to surpass Php 900 million worldwide gross breaking the Php 691 million record of Hello, Love, Goodbye (2019).
After this big success, the Kapuso actor is up again for another film and this time around, with former ABS-CBN president Charo Santos. The working title of their film is “Love After Love” and according to him, this was pitched to them pre-pandemic time.
This project accordingly underwent a lot of revisions. Ever since, the making and conceptualization of this was made really for them and just encountered some delays because of the revisions in the script.
“Mula nang umpisa naman, nung na-conceptualize ‘yung project, ‘yun na talaga. Kami na talaga ‘yung team. Walang ibang casting. It was really written with us in mind. Medyo na-stall lang ng konti ‘coz the script had to go through revisions, konting pagbabago, ready’ng ready na siya.”
However, he cannot disclose more details. He can’t even tell if this is going to be on the genres of romance and drama or not. He doesn’t also know if this film would join the film festival again or not. He cannot give absolute answers but one thing is for sure, the shooting will start at the end of April.
“Love after Love” was written and will be directed by Irene Villamor.
