DRIVER’S LICENSE RENEWAL PHILIPPINES – Here is a step-by-step guide on the process of renewing your LTO Driver’s License.

One of the processes that drivers in the Philippines have to go through from time to time is renewing the Driver’s License issued by the Land Transportation Office. More popularly called LTO, it is the body that issues Driver’s License to eligible drivers and holds vehicle registrations in the country.

Nowadays, the Driver’s License has a validity of 10 years for cardholders with no violation. The Driver’s License renewal can be done walk-in but there are online steps involved since the LTO utilizes the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) portal.

After preparing the LTO Driver’s License renewal requirements, below, you can check the steps for processing to renew your Driver’s License through a walk-in application:

Step 1 — Make sure you have an account on the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) portal. If you have yet to sign up for an account, you can sign up at LTMS.

Step 2 — Take the CDE Online Validation Exam on the LTMS Portal by logging in to the portal. Click/Tap the E-Learning tab on the top menu, and then click/tap CDE Online Validation Exam.

Step 3 — You need to get at least 20 correct answers out of the 25 questions. Once you got the passing score, print out your CDE Certificate.

Step 4 — Go to a branch of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in your city or municipality. Get a queue number and wait for your number to be called.

Step 5 — Once called, go to the LTO window and present your Driver’s License ID and your CDE Certificate. You will be given a document for the next step which is the medical exam.

Step 6 — Proceed to the medical exam kiosk and present the paper to the officer in charge. Wait for your turn to be called for the medical exam.

Step 7 — Go to the LTO officer desk for the processing of your Driver’s License renewal. Submit your medical exam result.

Step 8 — Verify your details by logging in to your LTMS Portal account. Make sure to log out after verifying your account.

Step 9 — Wait for your turn for the taking of the biometrics and your photo. You may opt to retain your current photo.

Step 10 — Wait for the release of your new LTO Driver’s License card.
