Wife of Senator Robin Padilla, Mariel Padilla shrugs off buzz about her IV drip issue and takes advantage of the situation.
Many people online stress that what Mariel Padilla did inside the senate office of her husband Senator Robin Padilla was inappropriate and disrespectful. Many people also wondered if it’s allowed to do an IV drip treatment inside the senate with the seal on the background while promoting a product.
Mariel’s IV drip session photos immediately went viral and in a previous article, the senator reacted to it.
He finds the “political issue” laughable. He shrugged off the criticisms in a statement sent to reporters Friday. Padilla said in the statement, “Kung may nakita po silang masama sa larawan na ‘yan, paumanhin po.”
As for Mariel, she surely is aware of the impact her photos left on many social media users, however, in her latest IG stories, she seems not to care one bit. She even took advantage of the whole trending situation to promote her live selling in a social media platform.
Upon seeing these posts, people online aired their thoughts immediately. Some said that they were actually expecting accountability from Mariel while some asked that if she really is unbothered, why did she took down the original post immediately after it made rounds online.
Some other users, on the other hand, expressed that they were no longer surprised by this.

Meanwhile, with this subject creating a loud buzz online, Senator Nancy Binay, chairperson of Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges, expressed that she was bothered by this. She was bothered that it was done within the senate premises and to make things for complicated, gluta drip was declared unsafe already by the DOH and banned by DFA.
She said, “As public figures, sana aware din tayo sa responsibilidad natin sa publiko. We might be promoting something na ipinagbabawal at ilegal, at akala ng mga tao e okay lang. Isipin din nating may kasamang kapanagutan ang pagiging artista, lalo na kung senador ang asawa mo.”
