PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Thursday (December 14, 2023)

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area may enter the country’s vicinity this weekend.

On Thursday (December 14, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A newly formed low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that a cloud cluster observed in the central Pacific Ocean has developed into a low-pressure area. The weather disturbance was spotted 1,865 kilometers east of southeastern Mindanao, outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

The LPA is expected to enter the country’s vicinity on Saturday (December 16, 2023). It has a slim chance of developing into a storm within the next two days.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy weather conditions with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Pagasa specialist Patrick del Mundo reported that Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience generally fair weather conditions with the possibility of isolated light rains.

In the remaining parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, fair weather conditions are expected with a possibility of isolated light rains due to the effects of the northeast monsoon,” del Mundo said.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Visayas and Mindanao.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.

No gale warning was raised in any part of the country.
