Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo gained much sympathy following the split and this iconic line of hers now has a different effect.
The chapter of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla is over after 11 years of being in a relationship. After a couple of months of speculations, the couple finally put an end to it and confirmed that they decided to be apart.
“It’s true that Deej and I have decided to part ways,” Kathryn said in her breakup post.
In what seemed like a parting message, these bittersweet words were also read in her post: “Deej, you gave me 11 beautiful years and the kind of love I will forever cherish. I will always be grateful for you.”
It was painful to many and at the height of their breakup, some of their movie lines seem to hit differently now. These were the lines that people have recalled and the difference made stemmed from the reality that their relationship has ended. It was 11 years of their life and their relationship has become an inspiration to many.
In one of the videos reposted online, the one that made the most impact was the line she said in a scene in The Hows Of Us where she vent out everything to Primo. Her character expressed all the pain she kept hidden from him and she endured for a long time.
According to the film’s director, it was Kathryn who wrote that line because she asked her to. In an interview, Cathy Garcia-Sampana revealed, “Write a letter, lahat ng pagod ka na. Isulat mo kung saan ka pagod na.”
Not everything was hers. There were some from the writer and the director but most of it was based on what she wrote.
The line said:
“Pagod na ‘kong sabihin kay mama na okay lang ako. Pagod na ‘kong umasa na sana paggising ko bumalik na yung Primo na minahal ko. Pagod na ‘kong mag-antay na tutuparin mo yung pangako mo sa akin. Pagod na ‘kong ipagtanggol ka sa kanila. Naniwala ako sa’yo at yun ang pagkakamali ko. Pagod na’kong bitbitin ka. Pakiramdam ko sinasayang ko lang ang buhay ko sa relasyon na ‘to.”
