Road in Sorsogon Flooded w/ Liquor After Delivery Truck Carrying Alcoholic Beverages Involved in Accident
A road in the East District of Sorsogon was flooded with liquor after a truck carrying alcoholic beverages figured in an accident while transporting its cargo.
Recently, Edwin Divina, a Facebook user, shared a video showing the actual moment liquor bottles fell from the truck along Barangay Buhatan in the East District. The post quickly went viral and drew various reactions from online users.
According to Divina, the truck was transporting liquor products to their destination when the accident happened. As the bottles hit the pavement, many broke upon impact, causing liquor to flow across a section of the roadway.
Broken glass also scattered across the area, creating a possible danger for passing vehicles and pedestrians.
CCTV footage from the area showed the actual incident, giving viewers a clearer look at how the cargo fell from the vehicle. Fortunately, despite the damage to the products and the disruption on the road, no injuries were reported.
Local officials expressed relief that no motorists, pedestrians, or nearby residents were harmed during the accident. The incident could have resulted in a more serious situation, especially if other vehicles had been directly affected by the falling cargo.
Residents of the barangay immediately came together to help clear the roadway. Community members assisted in removing broken glass and cleaning the spilled liquor to make the area safe and passable again.
Authorities also reminded motorists to exercise extra caution while traveling, especially when sharing the road with large delivery vehicles.
