Arnold Clavio was dragged into the flood control issue
Kapuso veteran broadcaster Arnold Clavio slammed the accusation that he received a paper bag of money from former Congressman Zaldy Co.
Clavio is one of the seasoned journalists in the Philippines, whose career has gone through a lot of milestones, as well as challenging times.
He is known for his fiery statements on his social media page regarding political and social issues. Clavio is not afraid to attack or criticize certain personalities.
On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, during a press conference, Mario Ceniza, Jr., one of the individuals who claimed to be one of the former bodyguards of Zaldy Co, alleged that the Kapuso journalist was one of the media people who received cash.
Based on the report from GMA News Online, Arnold Clavio denied the accusations against him. “Lies. Nakakatawa. Nakakalungkot. Pero lahat ng ito haharapin ko nang walang takot. Talk is cheap. Bago ang dada, ebidensya muna,” the veteran journalist said.
He also stressed that he has nothing to hide and he is not afraid. Clavio also challenged the accuser to meet him in court. The veteran journalist stressed that allegations against him are baseless.
Aside from Arnold Clavio, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan was also dragged into the issue. The individuals who claimed to be the bodyguards of the former Cong. Zaldy Co alleged that Pangilinan received a suitcase of money when he visited Marawi City.
The senator’s wife, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, called the accusers “liars.” She stressed that the accusations against her husband are not true.
