Lady Passenger Shares Unfortunate Incident at LRT-1, Points Out Importance of Emergency Button in Public Transport
LRT INCIDENT – A lady passenger emphasized the importance of an emergency button in a public transport vehicle.
Emergency buttons in public transportation systems serve a crucial role in ensuring passenger safety and convenience. They are installed to address various emergency situations that can arise during a journey.
Recently, a Facebook user named Mhina C Fabre shed light on the importance and challenges associated with the use of emergency buttons in public transport. The post elicits various reactions from the netizens.
Mhina’s story revolves around her experience on the LRT-1, where an unexpected incident unfolded. During her journey, a fellow passenger’s finger got caught in the train door as it was closing.
Another passenger suggested pressing the emergency button to open the door prompting one of the commuters to press it. The door quickly opened but the security guard arrived to inquire about the emergency button activation.
The passengers had to explain the situation because the unexpected delay caused frustration among commuters, and it took several minutes for the door to finally close. As a result of this incident, an incident report was requested from the passenger who had pressed the emergency button.
Fabre expressed her disappointment and hoped for better training and awareness among the train crew to handle such situations efficiently. The incident points out the need for a wide understanding regarding the use of emergency buttons in public transportation.
