Pampanga Cong. Gloria Arroyo Denies Alleged Impeachment Move vs. Ombudsman Remulla

GLORIA ARROYO – The former President and now Pampanga Congresswoman denied her alleged linked to a suppose impeachment move vs. Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla.

Ombudsman Boying Remulla has undeniably earned a lot of criticisms most especially after the recent plunder case filed by the Ombudsman against Senator Rodante Marcoleta. The Senator was arrested by the authorities on Monday, July 6 amid a non-bailable plunder case due to campaign donations that were not declared in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN).

Remulla is greatly criticized by the critics of the Marcos Jr. administration. Prior to being appointed by Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the position as the chief graft-buster in the country, he was the secretary of the Department of Justice.

Recently, amid the criticisms against Ombudsman Boying Remulla, former President and now Pampanga 2nd District Representative Gloria Arroyo was accused of allegedly masterminding an impeachment move against the Ombudsman.

Former President and now Pampanga Congresswoman Gloria Arroyo denied having a hand in the supposed impeachment resolution against Ombudsman Boying Remulla. Based on News5, the former President even admitted that if an impeachment resolution against the Ombudsman is filed, she will vote against it.

“If an impeachment resolution is filed in the House against [Ombudsman Remulla], I will vote against it,” she said.

Former President and now Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Arroyo stressed that now-Ombudsman Boying Remulla was her ally during her tenure as the country’s chief executive. Then, he was a congressman.

“He became my ally when he became a Congressman during my Presidency and did much valuable legislative policy and oversight for my administration,” Arroyo added.

Based on the post, former President and now Pampanga Cong. Gloria Arroyo stressed that impeachments are “political” by nature. According to her, in case an impeachment resolution is filed against Ombudsman Boying Remulla, she will vote against it.

“Impeachments are fundamentally political, and a vote in favor of Ombudsman Remulla would be my response,” the Pampanga Congresswoman said.

Previously, the Ombudsman Boying Remulla was criticized after he confirmed his meeting with former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and a personnel of the ICC (International Criminal Court).
