Drunk Man Injured After Being Assaulted by Another Intoxicated Man
BUKIDNON – A 28-year-old drunk man was injured after he was allegedly hacked by a 39-year-old suspect in the municipality.
According to the police investigation, both the victim and the suspect were under the influence of alcohol when the incident happened in Purok 8, Sitio Lagasan, Barangay Sampagar in the municipality of Damulog.
Authorities said the victim was sitting with several neighbors and drinking alcohol when the suspect passed by the area. The simple encounter quickly turned into a violent incident that left one man seriously wounded.
Police reported that the victim allegedly shouted at the suspect as he walked by. The act reportedly angered the suspect, leading to a heated confrontation. After a few moments, the suspect allegedly pulled out a machete and repeatedly attacked the victim.
The victim suffered four hack wounds on the left side of his body. Residents immediately sought help and the injured man was rushed to Bukidnon Provincial Hospital in Kibawe for treatment.
Despite the severity of his injuries, the victim was reported to be in stable condition and is now recovering under medical care.

Responding police officers quickly conducted an operation and arrested the suspect shortly after the incident. Authorities also recovered the bladed weapon believed to have been used in the attack.
Investigators are continuing to gather more information about what led to the violence. Based on their initial findings, police are looking into a possible personal conflict between the two men as one of the motives behind the incident.
The Damulog Police Station is still conducting a thorough investigation while preparing the appropriate charges against the suspect.
