This August 2023, there are two (2) long weekends in the Philippines because of the Ninoy Aquino Day on the 21st day of the upcoming month and the National Heroes’ Day on August 28.
The Ninoy Aquino Day on August 21 is a special non-working day. It cancels the work operations in government offices and in most private establishments and companies. Employees who will be reporting to work on this day will receive an additional pay that is equivalent to 30% of the daily salary rate.
Set every August 28, the National Heroes’ Day is a regular holiday in the country. Classes in schools are suspended and most work operations are also cancelled. The employees who will be reporting to work on this day receives an additional pay that is equivalent to the daily salary rate of the worker.
