Mother Files Complaint Against Foreign National Who Harassed Her During Traffic Altercation
A mother from Bacolod City has filed a complaint against a foreign national following a traffic incident in Bacolod City Government Center.
A woman, identified by the alias Barbara, the accident occurred as she was exiting the gasoline station located in front of the Bacolod City Government Center. At the same time, a motorcycle ridden by a foreign national was making a turn, which allegedly resulted in a collision between the two vehicles.
Barbara said she was preparing to step out of her vehicle to check on the rider and assess the situation.
However, instead of having a calm discussion about the accident, she claimed that the foreign national immediately became aggressive. She alleged that the man shouted at her, used offensive language, and repeatedly pointed his finger at her during the confrontation.
According to Barbara, the group included three foreign nationals accompanied by female passengers. She claimed that the man involved in the accident demanded P50,000 from her following the incident.
Barbara explained that she informed the other party that her vehicle was covered by insurance. Despite this, she said the confrontation continued for nearly three hours. The matter was eventually brought to a police station, where she reportedly felt pressured to hand over P25,000.
Nearly a month after the incident, Barbara said she continues to feel distressed whenever she remembers what happened. She shared that the experience has affected her peace of mind and has made it difficult for her to sleep properly.
The woman is now appealing for respect and understanding on the road. She believes that traffic accidents can be resolved through calm communication and proper procedures rather than intimidation or harassment.
