Farmer Passes Away After Being Attacked by His Own Carabao

A 38-year-old farmer lost his life after he was reportedly attacked by his own carabao in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental. 

The victim was identified as Ronald, a resident of Barangay Quiwi, according to a police report. The incident happened on July 30, 2026, and left family members and neighbors saddened by the unexpected loss. 

Authorities said Ronald was tending to his daily activities when the attack occurred. The animal involved was his seven-year-old male carabao, which had been under his care. The reason behind the animal’s sudden aggressive behavior remains unclear.

The victim’s live-in partner reportedly discovered the frightening scene while she was fetching water. She found Ronald already injured and still being attacked by the carabao. The woman immediately sought help from nearby residents. 

Neighbors quickly worked together to calm the animal and stop the attack. Their efforts allowed them to rescue the injured farmer and bring him to safety. However, Ronald had already suffered serious injuries during the incident. 

He was rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment, but despite the efforts of medical personnel, he was declared dead upon arrival. Police confirmed his death and began gathering information about the circumstances surrounding the incident. 

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding what may have triggered the attack. Investigators continue to look into the case to better understand what happened.
