The noontime shows saga in the Philippines continues to roll. Eat Bulaga on GMA and It’s Showtime on ABS-CBN are big rivals for many years. TVJ, the original hosts of EB, transferred to TV5 and will take over the time slot occupied by the Kapamilya noontime show.

The plot twist continues as the Kapamilya noontime show has found its new home, on GTV, owned by the Kapuso network.

With regard to It’s Showtime on GTV, it is really a business decision for us,” she said. The TV executive also confirmed that it was ABS-CBN was the one that reached out first. “Yes, it is true that ABS-CBN reached out to us first. We already have collaborations with ABS-CBN,” she said.

The first concern was whether the noontime slot was available on GTV,” she revealed. When asked how long the noontime show led by Vice Ganda will air on the GMA-owned network, the TV executive said that they have a “contract that is renewable by mutual agreement.”

She also said that it is possible that artists under Sparkle will appear in It’s Showtime since it will be aired on GTV starting on July 1.
