Arnie Teves To Return To PH Today? Justice Secretary Remulla Cites “Reliable Source”

DOJ Chief Remulla Says Cong. Arnie Teves Might Go Home to PH

ARNIE TEVES – Justice Secretary Boying Remulla cited a “reliable source” claimed that the Congressman might return to the Philippines today.

It has been more than two (2) months since the travel clearance of Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnie Teves expired. However, the Congressman who is currently surrounded by allegations has yet to return to the Philippines.

Teves is being accused as one of the alleged masterminds in the slay of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo. One of the suspects in the case claimed that the Congressman is main player in the case.

Teves denies the accusations and stresses that both he and Degamo are victims in the situation. There were several calls for him to go home to the country and face the allegations. His family also joined the call for him to return. However, the Congressman refused to go home citing his safety.

The House of Representatives suspended Teves from his congressional seat. The investigation on the death of Degamo continues.

Recently, Department of Justice Secretary Boying Remulla claimed that a “reliable source” said that Cong. Arnie Teves might return to the Philippines today, May 17. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the DOJ Chief said that he does not know the exact time that Teves may arrive in the country but the source confirmed that it will be at an airport.

“I consider to be a reliable source as he may have access to flight data into the country and he’s usually a very reliable source for those who come in and out of the country,” Remulla said.

More than a week ago, Teves reportedly sought political asylum from Timor-Leste but it was denied. Remulla said that the Congressman’s access now to other countries has become limited.
