Jodi Sta Maria and Sanya Lopez are among the lead stars in ‘Midnight Girls’
Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta Maria shared her experience working with Kapuso actress Sanya Lopez.
The two actresses are among the lead stars in the upcoming movie Midnight Girls. They are joined by Kapamilya actresses Loisa Andalio and Jane Oineza.
Jodi had a recent guest appearance in the Kapuso afternoon talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, based on the article in GMA Entertainment. The Kapamilya actresses shared that their new movie is about four women who ventured to Japan.
This would narrate the story of these women and the sacrifices they had to make, as well as to play different roles just to be able to fight.
Previously, Jodi Sta Maria revealed that in order to prepare for their roles as club dancers or entertainers, they had an immersion at a bar in Japan.
“It is important for us, doon sa character namin na truly maintindihan ‘yung lalim ng pinaghuhugutan, ‘yung pinanggagalingan ng mga babae, ‘yung mga istorya na ilalahad namin or ‘yung mga pino-portray namin. So part doon ‘yung immersion, Tito Boy,” the Kapamilya actress explained.
They did what the women working in the club would usually do: they would dance and sing for the customers, and tell them stories just to entertain them.
King of Talk Boy Abunda also asked Jodi Sta Maria what it was like working with Sanya Lopez, the only Kapuso star among the four of them.
“I super love her. I really vocalize my appreciation sa babaeng ‘to. Sabi ko nga, ‘Alam mo, hindi ka lang magaling, napakamabuti mo pang tao.’ Nakakatuwa,” Jodi said about Sanya.
Midnight Girls is set to be released in cinemas on May 13.
Meanwhile, even though she is busy doing her showbiz projects, Jodi Sta Maria is yearning to go back to school.
