PAGASA Says Frontal System to Affect PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the frontal system will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Monday (May 15, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The frontal system will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that frontal system will be affecting Extreme Northern Luzon. Southwesterly Surface Windflow will be affecting the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon.

“Dahil dito, malaki ang tsansa ng maulap na kalangitan sa bahagi ng Batanes at Babuyan Islands, habang malaki naman yung tsansa ng mga thunderstorms particular na dito sa may Ilocos region at sa ilang bahagi ng Central Luzon kasama na rin dito sa kamaynilaan,” state weather specialist Obet Badrina said.

The frontal system will bring cloudy weather condition with rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

Partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The Southwesterly Surface Windflow / Localized Thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country.

The weather bureau has warned the public for flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.

No low-pressure area was spotted inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, according to Badrina.
