Police Launch Manhunt vs Cop Who Fatally Shoots Girlfriend in Tacloban
Police authorities launched a manhunt operation against a jealous cop who fatally shoots his girlfriend in Tacloban.
The Tacloban City Police Station is now looking for a policeman after he shot his girlfriend to death in front of its mother in this city. Based on the report, the shooting suspect was identified as Police Senior Master Sgt. Van Gregory Benitez, 44.
The authorities called on the suspect, who was assigned to the Tacloban City Police Office, and a resident of Brgy. 109-A V&G Subdivision, Tacloban City. Based on the police report, the crime took place around 5:30 PM on the road covered by Barangay 43, Quarry District, of said city.

Jessica Durana, 30, a DES Marketing employee and inhabitant of Barangay 42, was walking with her mother Henerosa, 51, in the neighborhood prior to the incident. Based on the report, the culprit abruptly obstructed the mother and daughter’s route.
He then fired three shots at Jessica. According to the police investigation, he first said, “Sorry Jessica.” Durana was taken to Tacloban City Hospital but died. Following the crime, the suspect fled in the direction of Barangay 44.
The police investigation indicated that the crime was motivated by envy. Durana and Benitez had a relationship, according to their inquiry. The city police are undertaking a manhunt for the culprit.
