Gloria Diaz Disagrees with Transwomen, Single Moms Joining Miss Universe

Gloria Diaz Doesn’t Agree with Miss Universe New Rules Allowing Transwomen and Single Moms to Join

Actress and former beauty queen Gloria Diaz expresses disagreement with the new rules of Miss Universe allowing transwomen, single moms, and married to join the pageant.

Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz stated in an ambush interview posted on Push’s YouTube channel that she does not agree with the presence of married women, children, and transwomen in the prestigious Miss Universe competition. She advised them not to participate because they appear to be at odds with the contest’s title.

“Edi dapat, ‘Universe’  na lang, huwag nang ‘Miss.’ Kasi, hindi na ‘Miss’ yon, ‘di ba? Dapat ‘Universe’,” said Gloria.

To clarify, the actress-beauty queen’s opinion is that there should be a separate contest for this. She suggested that they hold their own competition, similar to Mrs. Universe, Lesbian Universe, and Tranny Universe.

“My personal opinion—which is not to be taken in the negative way—dapat may sarili silang contest. May Mrs. Universe, may Lesbian Universe, may Tranny Universe,” shared Gloria.

“There is room for so much. Oo, mga category na ganoon, ganyan. Tapos, kasi even sa Mrs. Universe, andaming magaganda diyan na nanganak na. Ok lang yun,” she added.

Gloria stated that it should truly be their own so that the country it represents has a better chance of winning the crown. She also revealed that he was a judge for a “Eat Bulaga” beauty pageant for transwomen.

“Dapat kanya-kanya! O sige, di at least it gives people more chances, di ba? Kasi, you’re representing this country. Eh, kung may mas magandang babae, o mas magandang tranny… mas mahirap kalaban ang tranny,” said the beauty queen-actress.

“Kasi I’ve been a judge sa Super Sireyna. Ang gaganda talaga nila! At talagang palaban. Kaya nilang magsirku-sirko diyan, di ba?” Gloria said.

She also issued a comment when a transwoman competed for Miss Universe. It is not acceptable to her because they should have their own competition.

“Ahhh… parang it’s not… hindi kuwan. hindi too acceptable sa akin. Kasi dapat may sarili silang contest. Not that I’m ostracizing them, but they’re good in some things, eh. Kung sa talent portion lang, eh, the regular Miss Universe does not really have talent, di ba?” she said during the interview.

It will be recalled in September 2022, when Miss Universe allowed married and kid contenders to compete. Eileen Gonzales, Clare Dacanay, and Joemay-An Leo are three single mothers running for Miss Universe Philippines.
