Pryde Henry Teves Convinces Brother Arnie Teves To Go Home

PRYDE HENRY TEVES – The former Negros Oriental Governor gave a message for his older brother, Congressman Arnie Teves.

Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnie Teves was accused by one of the suspects in the killing of Gov. Roel Degamo as the alleged mastermind behind the plot. He is currently in abroad and he refused to go home citing his concern for his safety.

Teves was already in abroad when the attack at the house of Degamo took place. Men wearing pixelated uniform barged in the gate of the compound of the Governor in Pamplona. He, his ally, and several civilians died due to the attack.

The travel clearance of Cong. Arnie Teves expired last March 9. Several authorities called for him to go home and face the accusations against him. However, based on his statements, his safety is his primary priority now so he refused to go home.

The House of Representatives suspended Teves from his congressional seat for 60 days. He was given by the House ethics panel until March 21 to appear at Batasang Pambansa and explain his extended stay abroad. However, he did not show up.

Former Negros Oriental Gov. Pryde Henry Teves, the younger brother of Cong. Arnie Teves and the one unseated by slain Gov. Roel Degamo, is expecting that he will also be implicated in the case. Based on a report on GMA News, he stressed that in the political angle, he is the direct opponent of the slain Governor so it is not a surprise to him if he will be tagged.

Pryde Henry Teves gave a message for Cong. Arnie Teves convincing his older brother to come home to the Philippines and face the allegations. He admitted that their family is greatly affected by what is happening now.

“Sa kapatid ko, if you are listening to me, all your brothers, even your parents believe that it is better to come home… Kami ditong naiwan, kami ang naiiipit eh,” the former Negros Oriental Governor said.
