Rommel Padilla reacted to this bashing against Robin Padilla

Actor Rommel Padilla was asked for his reaction regarding the criticism his brother, Sen. Robin Padilla, has been receiving.

Sen. Robin’s life took a complete turn when he entered the political arena. He became the number one senator in the 2022 elections, and his win garnered polarizing comments from the public.

The actor-politician often becomes a laughingstock due to the statements he makes during Senate sessions or hearings. At some point, his critics would also took notice of his social media posts and statements during interviews or public appearances.

During Rommel Padilla’s appearance on the latest episode of “Ogie Diaz Inspires” last Sunday, September 13, the conversation touched upon the topic of Sen. Robin Padilla’s political career, including the negative comments that he would receive.

Rommel also shared what he called “real talk” regarding Angel Locsin’s alleged silence on the flood control issue, contrasting it with the criticism Sen. Robin faced after admitting to being a communist.

“First time kong ma-bash nang ma-bash nang gano’n kalupit. E, kaibigan ko naman si Ate Angel, e. Kahit si Neil Arce,” Rommel said.

Inevitably, the question arose regarding his reaction to those calling Sen. Robin “bobo” and using other insulting words.

“Ang sagot ko no’ng huli, kayo na matatalino. Sa panahon ngayon, nalulungkot nga ako…nandito na tayo sa panahon na kahit maganda na ang ginagawa ng tao…laging ang tinitingnan ay ang kamakailan. O, lalagyan ng kapangitan ‘yong kagandahang ginagawa ng tao,” Rommel said.

He also admitted that this really hurts him, and that he even teared up during an interview over that. It is because, after all, Sen. Robin is his younger brother. “Kilala ko ‘yan; anong totoong ugali. Ta’s makakarinig ka ng mga gano’n. Oh, my God!” Rommel Padilla said.

In the same interview, Rommel was also asked about his son, Supreme Idol Daniel Padilla’s, different political affiliation. Rommel said that, as much as possible, he and his son do not talk about their political beliefs and that they respect each other’s choice.
