Degamo Family Photos & House Map Taken from Suspect
DEGAMO FAMILY PHOTOS – Pictures of the family of the late Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo and their house map were found in possession of a suspect arrested during a raid in a compound of former Negros Oriental Gov. Pryde Henry Teves.
Last March 4, the people of Negros Oriental lost the head of their province, Gov. Roel Degamo, to a killing at his own compound in Pamplona. Men wearing pixelated uniform stormed in the house of the Governor and shot him.
Degamo’s ally and several civilians who were present at his compound to seek for help were also killed during the attack. Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo, the Governor’s wife, called for justice to the national government over her husband’s untimely passing.
The name of Cong. Arnie Teves was dragged into the case after one of the suspects named the political rival of Gov. Degamo as the alleged mastermind behind the plot. The Governor unseated the Congressman’s younger brother, former Negros Oriental Gov. Pryde Henry Teves, after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced Degamo as the rightful winner of the gubernatorial elections in the province.
Investigations regarding the death of Gov. Roel Degamo are ongoing and the Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed that Cong. Arnie Teves is considered as one of the possible masterminds behind the plot. Several properties owned by the Teves family were raided by the authorities.
Based on a report on GMA News, Degamo family photos and their house map were found in the possession of a suspect arrested during a raid in a compound of former Negros Oriental Gov. Pryde Henry Teves. The suspect was identified as Nigel Electona, a former police patrolman.
According to the report, the said suspect whom the Degamo family photos and their house map were found was arrested during a raid at the sugar mill compound of the former Governor in Sta. Catalina, Negros Orienta. PNP Police Colonel spokesman Colonel Fajardo expressed that Electona is one of those who helped the suspects “during the casing and surveillance”. The photos and house map were believed to have been used during the planning stage.
