Liza Soberano on Ogie Diaz’s Remark: ‘I never mentioned that I didn’t like the name’

Liza Soberano reacted to the statement made by Ogie Diaz

Actress Liza Soberano has this answer to her former manager Ogie Diaz regarding her screen name which she said she did not choose.

Liza said in her “This Is Me” vlog that with her 13 years in the entertainment industry, she was not given the liberty to voice out her thoughts when it comes to her projects and how her image would be.

She even said that she did not even choose her screen name. Initially, she was using Hope Soberano. It was ABS-CBN executive Malou Santos who chose her screen name which has become a household name.

In a vlog, Ogie Diaz answered Liza Soberano’s statement that she was not given a choice even in choosing her screen name. The talent manager said that Liza agreed with the screen name chosen for her. Ogie also stressed that through that name, she was able to support her family financially.

He also stressed that it is not true that Liza was not asked about the projects she will do. Ogie said that the actress always had the last say as she can accept or decline certain projects.

In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN News, Liza stressed that she is not upset with what happened in her career for 13 years. She also said that she saw the vlog of her former manager but she reiterated her point about her screen name.

“When I mentioned that in my vlog, that was more of me just stating a fact. I never mentioned that I didn’t like the name ‘Liza Soberano’ or that I wasn’t proud of it. It’s just the fact that I wasn’t the one who chose my name because that’s one thing that a lot of people don’t know about me,” the actress said.

She also wants to say to Ogie Diaz that she is thankful for everything he has done for her, personally and career-wise.

The actress also addressed those who said that she sounded ungrateful in her vlog. Liza said that it is up to people’s interpretation but she knows what is inside her and that she is grateful.

“I’m not upset about anything, I’m just stating facts, things I’ve experienced, things I’ve been through. And how I am moving forward for that,” the actress added.
