Francis Leo Marcos Still Conducts Optical Missions Despite Being Detained for Almost 3 Years
The controversial businessman Francis Leo Marcos still continues his optical mission for the poor Filipinos despite being detained.
Way back in 2020, the self-proclaimed businessman Norman Mangusin or popularly known as Francis Leo Marcos rose to fame and earns instant popularity online due to his philanthropic activities and unique point of view on life during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marcos who claimed to be a rich businessman is helping the unfortunate Filipino people amid the health crisis. He also asked his rich neighbors and friends to help our poor countrymen. His act of generosity pushed middle-class Filipinos to help the poor.
Aside from giving relief goods and cash assistance to the victims of the pandemic, he is also organizing optical missions and giving eyeglasses. However, FLM faced charges for not following the optometry law.
The latter has been arrested for allegedly organizing illegal optical missions. The authorities also discovered that Mangusin has been also involved in land grabbing and trafficking cases.
Recently, FLM’s fan page has shared the photos of optical mission in Paranaque City. Hundreds of people visited the area for a free eye check-up and receive free glasses.
In the photos, the attendants are wearing shirts imprinted with the logo of the Filipino Family Club International Inc. The group receives praise from the online community for his philanthropic deeds despite being jailed for almost three years.
The Securities and Exchange Commission Philippines warned the public regarding FLM’s activity.
“The Commission warns the public against FRANCIS LEO MARCOS and his now FILIPINO FAMILY CLUB INTERNATIONAL INC. and/or in dealing with any individuals or group of persons acting or soliciting donations for or on behalf of FRANCIS LEO MARCOS and/or his pretentious organization.”
