According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), there are 64 candidates running for senator in the upcoming May 2022 Elections. One of them is Francis Leo Marcos who caught attention on social media even before he ran for senator.

Personal Background:

Francis Leo Antonio Marcos was born on September 29, 1979 in Baguio City, Benguet. He is married to Mayu Murakami. No details were found about his parents and educational background. He claimed to be the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Marcos Group of Companies but there are no records about it. He was previously arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for violation of the Optometry Act. According to NBI, his real name is Norman Mangusin.

Accomplishments:

Francis Leo Marcos went viral on social media because of his “Mayaman Challenge” which caught the attention of a lot of people in 2020. In the videos, he was portrayed as a rich man who helped a lot of people and became a hero amid the pandemic crisis.
