Authorities Arrest X-Ray Technician for Allegedly Recording Patients While Changing ClothesÂ
An X-ray technician was arrested after he was accused of secretly recording patients while they were changing clothes inside a clinic.
A 27-year-old female employee of Manila City Hall filed a complaint against a 25-year-old X-ray technician in Tondo, Manila, for allegedly recording patients while changing clothes.
The woman had visited the clinic on Monday (July 20, 2026) after being referred by a barangay health center for an X-ray as part of her annual physical examination.
According to the victim, everything appeared normal at first. After her X-ray procedure, the technician reportedly stepped outside the room to give her privacy while she changed her clothes.
However, while dressing, she noticed a cellphone hidden under a table and pointed in her direction. When she checked the device, she allegedly discovered that it was recording a video.
The phone was reportedly owned by the same technician who assisted her during the procedure. She immediately confronted the suspect in the clinic hallway.
The victim later reported the incident to the police, leading to the suspect’s arrest. During the investigation, authorities allegedly found numerous videos stored on the suspect’s phone. Initial findings suggested that there may have been dozens of victims, including students and other individuals who visited the clinic for X-ray examinations.
The victim reportedly learned from a clinic employee that the suspect might not be a licensed X-ray technician. It was claimed that he was still a radiologic technology student and had not yet obtained a professional license.
The Manila Health Department said it would conduct an investigation into the incident and verify whether the clinic had complied with all legal and operational requirements.
Meanwhile, police continue to gather evidence and are planning to seek a cybercrime search warrant to support the ongoing investigation. The suspect, who reportedly worked as a reliever at the clinic, refused to give a statement.
He is now facing charges for alleged violation of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 and falsification of documents after authorities allegedly discovered that the PWD identification card he presented was fake.
