PAGASA Says Amihan and Localized Thunderstorms Will Bring Rains Over Parts of PH
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon and localized thunderstorms will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Monday (February 6, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The amihan and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon while the localized thunderstorms will bring rains over several areas.
The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Mindanao, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.
Amihan will also bring the same weather condition to Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The weather agency has also warned the public about possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over seaboards in the eastern section of the Philippines will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said that the Philippines is not expecting any tropical cyclones up to the next two days. Most parts of the country will experience fair weather condition with chances of rain in several areas.
“Wala tayong inaasahang bagyo in the next 24 to 48 hours, Dito sa may Luzon, inaasahan natin yung magandang panahon, partly cloudy to cloudy skies; dito sa Bicol region at Mimaropa may mag tiyansa tayo ng thunderstorms,” Torres said.
