PAGASA Says Generally Fair Weather Expected Over Entire PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the amihan and localized thunderstorms will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Thursday (February 2, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The amihan and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that northeast monsoon or amihan, localized thunderstorms will bring cloudy skies and light rain over parts of the country.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with light rains over the entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro as well as Luzon including Metro Manila and the Visayas.

The localized thunderstorms will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Mindanao.

The weather agency has also warned the residents in the affected areas for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja also reported that the Philippines is not expecting any tropical cyclones or low-pressure areas until the weekend. Generally fair weather condition is expected over the entire country.

“As of present, we don’t see any tropical cyclone or even low-pressure area around the Philippine Area of Responsibility that could enter until the weekend,” Estareja said.

However, one tropical cyclone is expected to enter the country’s vicinity this month of February.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and Visayas will be moderate to rough. Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
