“Batang Quiapo” remake starring Coco Martin will mark the return of the actor in Primetime Bida.
COCO MARTIN – Kapamilya actor Coco Martin top-bills “Batang Quiapo” and the series will start airing this February.
Ang Probinsyano was the top-rating series of Coco Martin and is also the longest drama series to air in the history of Philippine television. Its ending aptly titled “Mission Accomplished” gained over half a million viewers at the peak of the viewership.
And after Probinsyano, another remake of the FPJ classic is set to start again and Coco is still in the leading role. He and the other cast have already started shooting for the series and in a new teaser released, this series will start airing this February!
A new trailer of the show was released Friday and this is just six months after Probinsyano ended. In the teaser, the chemistry between Coco and Lovi Poe, FPJ’s daughter, was displayed. It also appears that their characters are close friends in the series.
“Mars Ravelo’s Darna” just announced that it is down to its last two weeks and it seems like the slot that will be left by this series will be occupied by Coco’s “Batang Quiapo“.
“Batang Quiapo” is a 1986 action-comedy film that is centered on the story of Baldo (FPJ). He is a former pickpocket but reformed after spending some time behind the bars. He met a young pickpocket, Maria (Maricel Soriano), and was asked to teach her his ways. But instead of doing so, he tried to put her on the right path.
Charo Santos-Concio, Christopher de Leon, Tommy Abuel, Cherry Pie Picache, Pen Medina, Lito Lapid, and Susan Africa, and John Estrada are the screen veterans joining Coco in the remake.
Other stars are Mark Lapid, Ronwaldo Martin, Ping Medina, Mercedes Cabral, Allan Paule, and Benzon Dalina.
