Coco Martin talked about his upcoming teleserye
Kapamilya actor Coco Martin said that his upcoming TV series Batang Quiapo is different from his previous series Ang Probinsyano.
The said two series were based on the movies made by Da King Fernando Poe Jr. After doing FPJAP, Coco hinted that he will be doing a new series. Late last year, it was officially announced that he will be doing another FPJ project.
In this new series, Coco is working with FPJ’s daughter Lovi Poe. Speculations surface that this project will replace Jane de Leon’s Darna.
During a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Coco Martin said that his new series is different from what he previously did. “Tapos na namin ‘yung Day 1 na episode. Sobra akong proud, ibang-iba siya sa ‘Probinsyano.’ Ibang-iba ‘yung treatment, ‘yung camera works,” the actor shared.
Coco added that they needed to step up their game in order to reach the level of international projects. He said that this is vital especially now because the international streaming platform Netflix is already getting content from the Philippines.
“Siguro ito na ‘yung tamang panahon para i-upgrade naman natin ang ginagawa natin. Paghandaan na natin kung sakali na magustuhan nila ‘yung proyekto,” the actor stressed.
Coco also shared that there is a possibility that stars who appeared in Ang Probinsyano might have appearances in Batang Quiapo. He said that over 400 actors appeared in FPJAP and this came to the point that he did not know anymore who to get.
“Kaya sabi ko nga, talagang mauulit na ma-guest ko [sa ‘Batang Quiapo’] ‘yung mga na-guest ko sa ‘Probinsyano’ kasi halos lahat na-guest ko eh. Masaya para sa ating lahat kasi ang kailangan natin ng hanapbuhay,” Coco Martin said.
Previously, it was reported that Coco and the cast members of Batang Quiapo joined the Translacion, and this gave them the opportunity to shoot some scenes.
