Bea Alonzo Speaks on British Father She’s Never Met Again
BEA ALONZO – The Kapuso actress revealed the reason that made her stop looking for her biological father, a British national.
Some celebrities in the Philippine showbiz industry have foreign races. One of them is Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo who is a British-Filipina. She is the daughter of Pinay Mary Anne Ranollo and a British man she has never met again since her parents separated.
Bea was only four (4) years old when her parents went separate ways. Since then, she has never met her father again and it was her mother who stood as both her father and mother in raising her.
The actress’ mom married her stepfather, Amado Carlos, whom she considers their “biggest blessing” although she did not approve of their relationship at first. According to her, it is her stepfather who is the reason why they are a close-knit family.
Recently, during her guesting in Boy Abunda’s Fast Talk, Bea Alonzo was asked about her previous stated in an interview with Jessica Soho wherein she said that there is no need for her to get to know her biological father.
Based on an article on Pep, Bea Alonzo explained that when Angelica Panganiban met her dad, she felt envious so she also tried looking for her father. However, that Christmas, when she got her mom drunk so she can ask her questions about her father, she saw the trauma that her mom got from the relationship.
“So I felt so guilty. Parang nagkaroon ako ng epiphany na noong nag-reflect ako, sabi ko, ‘Alam mo, hindi ko naman kailangan ng tatay, kasi buo naman ako,'” the actress said.
According to Bea, what her mother is giving her is more than what two (2) parents can give. She stressed that her mother has been through enough so she stopped looking for her father.
