Boy Abunda officially signed a contract with the Kapuso network
King of Talk Boy Abunda is officially back in GMA after several years since he left his first home network to transfer to ABS-CBN.
It has been many months already since the rumors surfaced that Tito Boy is set to transfer to the Kapuso network. In an interview before his official contract signing with GMA, the veteran TV host shared that he had negotiations with different TV networks and not just GMA.
Boy started his career in the Kapuso network through the talk show Show and Tell in 1994. In 1995, he had his first showbiz-oriented program Startalk. It was in 1999 when he decided to transfer to the Kapamilya network.
On December 7, GMA teased the comeback of an icon. This easily elicited reactions saying that this is about the King of Talk’s return to his first home network.
On December 15, this has become official. Boy Abunda signed a contract with GMA and the network’s executives happily welcomed him. In his statement after the contract signing, the King of Talk also expressed gratitude for the warm welcome that he received. He called this “makapusong pagtanggap.”
The veteran TV host also said that he won’t promise anything but he will commit to working hard and delivering what is expected of him. Tito Boy said that he is happy to be back at GMA because he does not what will happen and this is something exciting for him.
Boy Abunda also shared the time when he made “paalam” to GMA when he received an offer from ABS-CBN. The Kapuso executives did not hinder him because they want him to soar high in his career wherever he may be.
However, Tito Boy was told that they will not say goodbye and indeed back then was not a farewell because he returned to GMA. The veteran host said that GMA is his “dati and bagong tahanan.”
