EARTHQUAKE SURIGAO DEL SUR – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 4.6 magnitude quake in Cagwait.
Several earthquakes with 4.0 magnitude and above hit different areas in the Philippines on the 1st day of December. One of these was the 4.6 magnitude quake in Cagwait, Surigao del Sur.

EARTHQUAKE TODAY DECEMBER 1, 2022 – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.6 magnitude earthquake in Surigao Del Sur today.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
One of the strong quakes recorded by Phivolcs was the 7.1 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental. There were expected aftershocks due to the said quake and a tsunami advisory was released.
Previously, Phivolcs also recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking was felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“. But the agency advised the people to wait for factual information and not to panic.

Recently, a quake hit a part of Surigao Del Sur, December 1, 2022. Cagwait was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake today December 1, 2022 that hit a part of 17.85°North, 120.49°East – 001 km South 18° East of Sinait with a depth of origin of 021 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the agency, no intensity was recorded at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was recorded as well.
