PAGASA Says Easterlies, Shear Line and ITCZ to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the shear line will bring cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of the country.
On Wednesday (November 9, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line, easterlies and intertropical convergence zone will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the Shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Northern Luzon while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Mindanao.
The shear line and easterlies will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, and Camarines Provinces.
“Shear line ay nakakaapekto sa silangang bahagi ng Northern Luzon. Ang shear line ay isang boundary line sa pagitan ng malamig na hangin, at mainit na hangin. Sa boundary line ay nabubuo ang mga kaulapan katulad ng thunderstorm, Sa Mindanao, na-naapektuhan ang intertropical convergence zone or ITCZ,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldzcar D. Aurelio said.
The ITCZ will bring similar weather conditions over Caraga, Davao Region, and SOCCSKSARGEN.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected over Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Samar, and the rest of the Bicol region.
The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring the same weather conditions over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency has also warned the residents in the affected areas of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The surrounding sea conditions over the rest of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
