A young boy earned praise online for his quick response after receiving an earthquake notification on his tablet.
Recently, Maurice Calubia, a Facebook user, shared a video of his son acting swiftly to wake up his mother and sibling in order to warn them about the approaching earthquake. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions from netizens online.
According to Maurice, he was at work when the incident happened. While at home, his son received a notification from Google on his tablet warning about an approaching earthquake. After reading the alert, the young boy did not hesitate to act.

Realizing the possible danger, he quickly woke up his mother and younger sibling. He then encouraged them to leave the house and move to a safer area before the strong shaking began. His quick response helped ensure that his family was aware of the situation and able to prepare themselves.
The earthquake was later reported as a magnitude 7.8 tremor that affected the area of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on June 8, 2026. While many people were caught by surprise, the young boy’s actions stood out because of how calmly and responsibly he handled the situation despite his age.
Maurice expressed how proud he and his family were of his son. As a parent, he was grateful that his child understood the importance of acting quickly during emergencies and did so without fear or hesitation.
