MMFF 2022 UPSTREAM – Here is a list of the eight (8) official movie entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2022.

The MMFF Committee has announced the completion of the eight (8) official entries to the upcoming film festival which is its 48th season. The airing will start on December 25, 2022.

MMFF 2022 – The Metro Manila Film Festival announced the eight (8) official entries to its 48th film festival.

Every December, one of the things that many people await is the showing of the movie entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Many people watch at least one of the entries together with their family and loved ones.

The MMFF has been a constant part of the Christmas season in the Philippines. Before the pandemic, there were even events wherein the stars of the film entries do a parade in Manila and it gathers their fans and supporters on the streets.

The official entries go through selections and there is a criteria set in the selection process. Rules are set in the judging of the entries. Recently, the Metro Manila Film Festival announced the official eight (8) entries for the MMFF 2022.

According to MMFF, veteran actress and multi-awarded film industry leader Boots Anson Roa-Rodrigo headed the selection committee for the MMFF 2022. The following criteria were set:

  • Artistic Excellence – 40%
  • Commercial Appeal – 40%
  • Filipino Cultural Values – 10%
  • Global Appeal – 10%

According to Rodrigo, the eight (8) official entries for MMFF 2022 “is a collegial decision of a deliberative body”. Here are the eight (8) official movie entries:

1. Deleter by Viva Communications Inc.

2. Family Matters by Cineko Productions, Inc.

3. Mamasapano Now It Can Be Told by Borracho Film Production

4. My Father, Myself by 3:16 Media Network

Here are the first four (4) official entries to MMFF 2022 based on the script submissions:

5. Labyu with an Accent by ABS-CBN Film Productions

6. Nanahimik ang Gabi by Rein Entertainment Productions

7. Partners in Crime by ABS-CBN Film Productions

8. My Teacher by Ten17P

The 48th MMFF will run starting December 25, 2022 until January 7, 2023 in theaters nationwide. The Gabi ng Parangal is set on December 27.
