Man Claiming to be a Cop Shoots Traffic Enforcer After Mistaken as “Carnapper”

A traffic enforcer in Quezon City passed away after a man claiming to be a policeman had mistaken him for a carnapper.

On Thursday early morning (October 13, 2022), a traffic enforcer suffered serious wounds and injuries after he was shot by a man who introduced himself as a police officer. The cop allegedly mistaken him as a carnapper.

The victim named Edgar Fulero and his friend identified as ” Paul ” are traveling along EDSA near Roosevelt when his motorcycle broke. The two moved beside the road to fix the motorcycle.

After a few moments, a man who claimed to be a police officer accused them as carnappers and suddenly shoot the victim. Fulero was able to run away after enduring gunshot wounds due to the incident.

“Sabi niya lang, ‘Mga carnapper kayo.’ Sabi ko naman, ‘Hindi carnap ‘yan, sir. Kahit tignan niyo pa gamit ko.’ Pinakita ko sa kaniya ‘yung license ko at registration ng motor ko,” Paul said.

Paul explained that they had no idea that the gunman was a police officer. “Nagpakilala lang siya doon sa mga tao doon na pulis siya.” The traffic personnel has been rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The suspect has been identified as Lieutenant Felixberto Tikil Rapana from the Anti-Carnapping Unit of the Manila Police District.

According to the investigator, the suspect is currently under the custody of Masambong Police Station. However, the authorities did not find the suspect at the station.

The police authorities also refused to give a statement regarding the incident.
