Teacher Died After a Hit-and-Run Incident in Cebu, Husband Injured
A teacher died after a hit-and-run incident in Barangay Tunghaan, Minglanilla, Cebu while his husband suffers serious injuries.
Charisma Servado, a teacher at Minglanilla Central School, was the victim who passed away. The teacher and her husband, Sherwin, were allegedly struck by a reckless motorcycle rider while they were riding their motorcycle.
According to the police investigation, Sherwin indicated that he was about to turn left so he could eat at a cafeteria, but another motorbike slammed into him instead. Both the husband and the wife were flung by the force of the crash.
The alleged motorcyclist that struck them immediately took off. The couple was taken to the Minglanilla District Hospital by emergency personnel after they arrived, where the instructor was pronounced dead.
The cops allegedly started after the culprit right away but were unsuccessful in catching him. However, the suspect identified as Luigi Go Lazarte has been captured thanks to police cooperation with the Land Transportation Office-Central Visayas.
The suspect, a backhoe operator, is 25 years old and resides in Purok Buongon, Brgy, with his live-in partner. Sibonga, Lamacan. The suspect was identified when he left his motorcycle, based on the report.
The motorcycle’s owner, who turned out to be the suspect’s father, was sought after by the authorities. It was caught in the nearby town of San Fernando’s Barangay Cabatbatan.
Mayor Rajiv Enad gratefully thanked the police force after the perpetrator was immediately apprehended so that the teacher’s family might receive justice. The suspect will be charged with reckless imprudence leading to homicide, bodily harm, and property damage.
