PAGASA Says ITCZ & Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the intertropical convergence zone and easterlies will bring scattered rainshowers to the country.
On Wednesday (October 5, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The intertropical convergence zone and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the Easterlies will be affecting the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas. The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be also affecting Mindanao.
The easterlies will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Aurora and Isabela. The ITCZ will bring similar weather conditions over Caraga, Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
The Easterlies/ITCZ/Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol region, and provinces of Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.
Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country will experience similar weather condition.
“Itong easterlies, o yung hangin na nagmumula sa Karagatang Pasipiko ay nakakaapekto partikular sa bahagyang Luzon at Visayas, habang [ITCZ] naman ang nakakaapekto sa bahagi ng Mindanao,” Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina said.
The weather agency has also warned the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon as well as the rest of the country will be slight to moderate.
