Alden Richards has been the subject of the gay issue for the longest time
Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards admitted that he is somehow affected by being called gay.
Alden was the first guest on the pilot episode of the new “Gandang Gabi Vice” last Sunday, September 13, where he chatted and bantered with Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda
During that episode, the Kapuso actor participated in the “Deep Truth” segment, which required the guest to share an explosive revelation.
Through a series of questions, Vice and the “Geng Gang” had to guess whether the revelation was the truth or just a bluff. Their first guess concerned whether Alden had ever punched someone for calling him gay.
“Sa’n ‘yan?” Vice Ganda asked, and Alden Richards answered, “Sa Laguna.” This was the moment the “Geng Gang” weighed the truth of Alden’s revelation. Vice said that this was just “charot” or not true.
Then, Alden clarified that the statement was indeed a joke; he hadn’t actually punched anyone for calling him gay.
“Lagi kang nasasabihan ng ganyan. Lagi kang tinatanong ng ganyan. Minsan ba gusto mo na ring manapak?” the Kapamilya comedian-host said.
Alden answered, “Hindi naman.” On the other hand, he admitted, “Napipikon, na-o-offend. Kasi hindi na siya natapos, e. Until such time na nag-showbiz ako.”
The actor pointed out that in showbiz, the qualification for some reasons is that you should have a partner in order to have a masculine image.
There have been several instances when Alden Richards has addressed the “bading” issue about him.
Meanwhile, in the same interview, Alden had a very emotional moment. Vice shared that Alden’s breakdown took almost 10 minutes. The studio audience also empathized with the actor. Alden’s breakdown was caused by his realization that he lacked love for himself, which caused his “almost but not quite” relationship with showbiz personalities.
