Video of Counterflowing Ambulance That Accidentally Hits Jaywalker Goes Viral

A counterflowing ambulance accidentally hits a jaywalker who violated the traffic rules and regulations in Novaliches, Quezon City.

The dashcam video taken at Quirino highway Novaliches in Quezon City caught a pedestrian who gets hit by an ambulance after jaywalking. The video goes viral online and elicits comments from the netizens.

In the video, it can be seen that a counterflowing ambulance accidentally hits a jaywalker crossing the road. The incident sent the pedestrian pummeling on the ground and suffering wounds and injuries.

The traffic violator makes ‘singit’ at the concrete barriers along the road. Unfortunately, he was rammed by an ambulance carrying a patient. The driver surrendered his license and immediately leaves the area to bring his patient to the hospital.

The barangay ambulance pick up the victim and brought him to the hospital for immediate treatment and medication. The driver shouldered the medical expenses of the jaywalker.

QCPD Traffic Sector 2 Commander Police Lt. Joan Vela explained that counterflowing is considered a traffic violation but the authorities allow it during emergency cases. The pedestrian commits a mistake by not using an overpass or designated lane.

“Nagconterflow itong ambulansya, inaallow naman natin kasi buhay nga ang sakay sir, ang pagkakamali ng pedestrian hindi siya tumawid sa tamang tawiran,” Vela said.

The police authorities reminded the motorists to follow the traffic rules and regulations and advised the pedestrians to use the designated crossing lanes.

“Lagi po nating iconsider yung batas trapiko para iwas aksidente lalo na po sa panahon ngayon, sa pedestrian naman po natin sana naman po ay gamitin natin yung tamang tawiran ng tao,” Vela added.
