In a recent interview with Karen Davila, Julia gets honest about this matter and revealed the truth about her current relationship with her father. She admitted that up until now, they are not on speaking terms.
This is where she also admitted that after a series of publicized disagreements through the years, she came to the point where she found herself having a tough time forgiving him. She can forgive and she will never get selfish in forgiving but for now, she is not ready.
So much pain has been inflicted on her since she was young and everything became a whole cycle. It was an on-and-off relationship with him that she eventually got tired of it all.
“It’s not difficult for us to forgive, but it’s difficult to really just… It’s not the forgiveness, it’s to forget. But there’s just a lot of fear because I don’t know what’s gonna happen. But forgiveness, of course, definitely, that’s for my own peace of mind, di ba?” she continued.
She wants to take a break from it and she’s hopeful that one day, they will be meeting, making amends, and will never get hurt again. He tried reaching out to them, she revealed, but it was her who is not ready.
What the actress wants is for them to speak again when she’s finally ready. She doesn’t want to force anything.
She added based on the interview, “I don’t wanna force myself also. Because if you force yourself, then it’s not genuine, hindi siya totoo. So, I want to get to a point na when we speak, it’s when I’m ready.”
