The Gil-Eigenmann clan gathered together one month after Cherie Gil died and it was led by Michael De Mesa.

CHERIE GIL – Well-loved “kontrabida” Cherie Gil died at the age of 59 and just recently, her family gathered for her.

Evangeline Rose Gil Eigenmann or the well-loved actress known as Cherie Gil died in a hospital in New York City at the age of 59. She succumbed to a rare form of endometrial cancer and the report about her death shocked many people. She kept her health issues from the public and just flew to New York for treatment and to spend time with her kids.

In a previous article, her family planned to bring her ashes to her farm in Bukidnon. It’s a place where loved the most when she was still alive – her sanctuary. In a statement, her children expressed their admiration to their mother who bravely went through this difficult part and they supported her decision to not let her condition be publicized.

And almost a month after her death, the Gil-Eigenmann clan gathered together for her. The family paid tribute to her in an intimate gathering and Cherie’s brother Michael de Mesa was the one who shared some photos taken during that gathering.

De Mesa said, “I know you were with us — smiling, crying, and laughing at the beautiful memories we shared of you with each other. We miss you so much! But in our grief, we smile knowing that you are hugging Ralph again.”

Ralph is the real name of their older brother known as Mark Gil in the industry who passed away due to cancer.

Cherie’s children Raphael and Bianca, husband Rony Rogoff, and her nephews and nieces such as Andi Eigenmann, Gabby Eigenmann, Sid Lucero, and Geoff Eigenmann were present at the gathering.
