Will Bukidnon be the last destination of Cherie Gil?
The family of the late actress Cherie Gil is planning to bring her ashes to Bukidnon because this is her favorite place.
Cherie died in a hospital in New York City after her body succumb to endometrial cancer. She was just 59 years old. The world of entertainment in the Philippines mourned over her death. Many celebrities and fans expressed their grief online.
Based on the article in the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Cherie’s body was cremated and her family is just waiting to receive her ashes. The Celebration of Life ceremony was already held for the late actress. In the said gathering, the children of Cherie Gil, Jay Bianca, and Raphael, were present, as well as her parents Rosemarie Gil and Eddie Mesa, and some relatives.
Reportedly, the family of the late actress is planning to bring her remains to Bukidnon. Cherie considered this place a sanctuary. Actor-politician Alfred Vargas, a close friend of the late actress, said that her farm in Bukidnon is one of her favorite places.
“Her face lit up telling me about her farm in Bukidnon and how she loved staying there,” Alfred shared in a previous interview. Senator Migz Zubiri attested that the late actress loved the said place. Zubiri’s family is from Bukidnon.
“I am blessed to have met you many times in Bukidnon together with your dear friends, the Perrines, and loved how you spoke fondly of my beloved province,” the Senator shared.
In a previous report, the family of the late actress said that she chose not to divulge to the public her battle. She was fighting for her health but still even in her last social media post, she showed strength and this is something that was admired about her.
