DSWD Educational Cash Aid: Lady Student Airs Dismay Over “Kaltas sa Ayuda”
DSWD EDUCATIONAL CASH ASSISTANCE – A lady student has expressed her disappointment over alleged ‘kaltas sa ayuda.’
The Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo announced the distribution of educational cash assistance poor students. Qualified applicants may receive P1,000-P4,000.
Tulfo said that up to three (3) students per family may be given educational cash assistance. The 6-week program that aims to help poor students will run from August 20 to September 24, 2022.
- P1,000 – Elementary student beneficiaries
- P2,000 – High school student beneficiaries
- P3,000 – Senior high school student beneficiaries
- P4,000 – College students
Applicants must present their school identification cards and school enrollment certificate upon applying for educational assistance. Students can use the cash aid to buy school supplies or for their daily allowances.
On Saturday (August 20, 2022), DSWD started to receive applications and distribute cash aids to the students, which causes long queue of applicants at DSWD officers in various regions across the country.
Recently, the Facebook page Brigada News GenSan shared the video footage of a lady student expressing her disappointment due to the alleged illegal deduction of their educational assistance.
The female senior high school student revealed that an officer look at her requirement and learned that she and her siblings were both senior high students. The officer told her that she and her sibling will only receive P2,000 each. The incident happened in Cotabato.
