PAGASA Says ITCZ & Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition (July 16)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone and southwest monsoon will bring cloudy to rainy conditions over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (July 16, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone and habagat will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Southwest Monsoon will be affecting the western section of Northern Luzon while the ITCZ will be affecting the southern section of Mindanao.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Davao Region and SOCCSKSARGEN.

The Southwest Monsoon/Localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet and Aurora.

Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.

The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over the entire archipelago will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
