PAGASA Says LPA & Southwest Monsoon to Bring Cloudy Skies w/ Scattered Rains Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon and LPA will continue to bring cloudy skies and scattered rains over parts of the country.

On Wednesday (July 13, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and habagat will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area has been last spotted at 265 kilometers north northeast of Casiguran, Aurora as habagat will affect central and southern Luzon and Visayas.

The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet and Aurora.

Western Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, rest of Luzon and Metro Manila will experience similar weather condition due to LPA and habagat.

The localized thunderstorms/Southwest Monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Northern Samar, rest of Visayas and the remaining parts of the country.

The residents in the affected areas are advised to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

“Paalala sa ating mga kababayan na mag-ingat at maging alerto sa mga posibleng pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa lalong-lalo na sa mga kababayan nating nakatira sa low-lying areas maging sa mga malapit sa mga ilog, sapa, at bulubunduking lugar,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castaneda said.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over western section of Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather agency.
