Defective SD Cards Delayed Casting Votes at Lagro Elementary School in Quezon City

Some Voters Fail to Cast Votes Even After Election Day Due to Defective SD Cards at Lagro Elementary School in Quezon City

The defective SD cards at Lagro Elementary School in Quezon City have delayed some registered voters to cast their votes.

On Tuesday (May 10, 2022) several registered voters at Lagro Elementary School in Quezon City are still unable to cast their votes due to the defective SD cards of vote-counting machines.

About 40 registered voters have patiently waited for the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to replace the cards at their respective precincts. The voters even waited the whole day but were still unable to cast their votes.

The facilitators have distributed numbers to voters, which they can use once the replacement SD cards arrive. Some of them were senior citizens who wanted to personally feed their ballots into the machines to prevent cheating.

Some of the voters started to line as early as 8:00 am on Monday (May 9). The facilitators told the teachers that the SD cards will be delivered to the school on Monday afternoon but the cards did not arrive.

The vote-counting machine assigned to the precinct with a massive number of voters malfunctioned. The number of uncast votes may not affect the election result in Quezon City.

However, voters still want to personally cast their votes at the machines. The public is hoping that the authorities will take immediate action regarding the issue.
